INDIANA JONES LOOKING FOR JEWELS...

This a maze/platform game for Juku PC
featuring Indy gathering jewels while
trying to avoid deadly grasp of an
ancient mummy in 40 pyramid styled
levels.

The game was created by Ilmar Kr and
Rauno Mgi, two schoolkids from
Tallinn isme Gymnasium during second
half of 1990. The 9th grader Ilmar was
responsible for the code and Rauno
from 10th grade created music and
assisted coding.

INDY was written mostly at the school
computer class during spare hours as
well as borrowing precious Jukus from
school for the summer break. In order
to make the graphics run smoothly the
whole game is written in 8080
Assembler.

Although taking inspiration from
popular culture and similar computer
games of the time, the gameplay is
fully original. The floppies with the
game were circulated for a price of 25
rubles starting from spring 1991
helping to earn some precious pocket
money for its creators until copy
protection was cracked some months
later.

Juku PC, the school computer designed
and produced in Estonia fell out of
use for the end of 1990s, but INDY
lived on in memories of many of its
thankful users. We are happy to see
continuing interest in our game and
after more than 30 years since the
initial release we publish INDY into
public domain for historical research
under CC-0 license.

Special thanks goes to Asko Tiidumaa
who played great part in inspring us
with his demos to create our own
computer game, but also Marko Veelma,
who took the challenge to crack the
game.
